Bengaluru, Apr 8: The central government, which is experimenting with different options to exercise control over the spread of coronavirus infection as early as possible, now has proposed cluster control technique.

This method was hugely successful at Bilwara. Initially, the government wants to introduce this method in Mumbai, Delhi and Agra where the prevalence of this infection is high. In phases, it will be extended to Bengaluru, Mysore, Pune, Kerala and some other clusters in later days.

This was stated by Lava Agarwal, joint secretary in the department of health.

This method has succeeded in exercising control over coronavirus infection in Bilwara in Rajasthan. On March 30, the town had 26 cases, and the district administration did not allow people to come out on the roads. Food grains and cooked food were delivered to individual houses and suspected people were subjected to tests without delay. Therefore, no coronavirus positive cases have been witnessed in the town thereafter till now.

In smart cities, corona's territory will be restrained with the use of technology. Keeping vigil, tracking, managing of people under quarantine, creating heat maps and assessing the situation based on the maps, tele-medicines, personal consultation etc will be aided by technology, Agarwal stated.

Under cluster technique, all roads to an area are closed. Social distance is maintained, and close watch is kept on the people. All the suspects are subjected to tests, and isolation, keeping infected persons separate, creating awareness on an ongoing basis etc are the major parts of this technique.
