Mangaluru: One arrested over liquor theft at Kuthar Padav

Mangaluru, Apr 13: Konaje police arrested one person in connection to theft at Mysore Sales International Ltd wine shop at Deralakatte Nithyadar Nagar, who stole liquor worth about Rs one lac on April 3 at Nityanandanagar, Kuthar Padavu.

The arrested has been identified as Fayan alias Payya (25) resident of Natekal, while one more accused Farooq is absconding.

During the time of lockdown the duo had made way into Mysore Sales International Ltd wine shop at Nithyananda Nagar Deralakatte and stole liquor worth about Rs one lac. The shop is operated by Purushotham Pilar.

The accused were selling the stolen liquor near Thokkottu railway track to the migrant workers of other states at higher price. Police gathered information from the locals and nabbed the accused.
