No sealdown in Kundapur – clarifies MLA Halady Srinivasa Shetty

Kundapur, Apr 13: "As no coronavirus positive cases were found in the taluk till now, there are no plans of a sealdown in Kundapur taluk," said Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty. He addressed reporters after holding a meeting of officials called in Kundapur taluk auditorium on Monday regarding precautions relating to Covid – 19.

It is clear that Covid-19 is a global disaster. Therefore, lockdown will continue in the country. Essential items will be available in Kundapur till 11 am. A helpdesk for those who are unable to come out of their houses and afraid to go out is formed in the leadership of Police department, revenue department and local gram panchayat. Two volunteers for two hundred houses each equipped to supply essential items are ready in vehicles in it. People in villages can take their help, he said.

Kundapur and Kota are divided into two hublis. 11,539 people in Kundapur are from outside. Two of them have come from abroad with families and are risky and 20 are less risky as they have come from abroad without families. 4,124 in Kota Hobli have come from outside. 15 of them are risky and 130 are less risky. Most of them have completed their self-quarantine period, explained the officials



A separate fever clinic is opened in Udupi already. It operates in Ayush centers of Kundapur, Karkala and Udupi. The scheme will be expanded after the government provides additional facilities, they said.

The fixed prices of essential commodities in APMC limits should be displayed outside every shop. Action will be taken against vegetable and grocery shops if they do not mandatorily follow the rule, they said.

Discussions on peeling cashew nuts and areca nuts and digging bore wells were held. The officials said that there is no clarification from the government in this connection.
