Udupi: Palimaru panchayat, church jointly distribute food kits

Udupi, Apr 14: Amid lockdown continuing in the country keeping in mind needy families food kits distribution was arranged by Palimaru panchayat members, Fr Francis D'Souza of Palimaru church, F4 Holding (India) Private Limited Padubidri and former panchayat members.

The food kits distribution was organized in Palimaru church premises. Around 1,000 food kits (worth Rs 30,000) were distributed to needy people without any caste discrimination.

Fr Roque D'Souza said, “We are not doing this for publicity, but for inspiring others to do the same. Around 300 food kits were donated by donors and other organizations. The church came forward to do this work with the intention of helping the poor people."

He prayed that God would eliminate corona from the world and bring peace to all.

Other people present were Jithendra Furtado, president Palimaru panchayat, Naveen Chandra Suvarna, former Palimaru panchayat president, Dinesh and other taluk panchayat members were also present.
