Kundapur: Man arrested for slaughter of cows, sale of beef

Kundapur, Apr 15: In connection with the slaughter of cows and sale of beef illegally, Kandlur police sub-inspector and team succeeded in arresting one person. Two others succeeded in running away during the police raid.

The police, acting on information, stopped a Maruti Omni van and an auto-rickshaw near the Anganwadi at Shetrakatte. Two persons, taking advantage of thicket located nearby, ran away into the thicket and escaped. Rickshaw driver, identified as Abid Saheb (35) from Gulvady Bolakatte, was arrested. Those who fled have been identified as Ilyas and Abdul Rashid, the police said.

The police have registered a case. The investigation has been undertaken.
