Udupi, Apr 15: Lockdown is in force to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In the present scenario, between 50 and 60 people visit DC’s office to apply for passes for interstate or inter-district travel on medical grounds, to transport essential items and other purposes. Arriving in groups to the office is violation of orders. Therefore the deputy commissioner has arranged to accept such applications through the tahsildar.
The passes are being issued for continuation of medical treatment in other districts, to join duty for medical personnel and other essential purposes. The applicants have to provide documents such as medical history along with the details of the vehicle and the passengers between 10 am and 12 am. Travel by goods vehicle is not permitted. The tahsildar will scrutinize the documents and forward them to the DC’s office for the issue of passes.
The deputy commissioner has stated that applications without supporting documentation will not be entertained.
