Kaup: Retired teacher Vedavati N Karkera passes away at 87

Kaup, April 15: Retired teacher Vedavati N Karkera (87) who had served in Kaup taluk's Polipu government school for more than four decades passed away at her residence in Polipu on Tuesday due to old age.

She was the wife of Mogaveera community leader and Congress party senior leader late Narayan Karkera. She left behind Hemaraj Karkera, editor of Mumbai news channel, Vaniprasad Karkera assistant editor, political leaders Lava Karkera and Kusha Karkera, friends and relatives.

She taught several elite people including Dubai’s famous entrepreneur B R Shetty, Suresh Shetty Gurme. She was a beloved teacher to all her students who was also concerned with the social issues prevailing in the society.
