Bantwal: Police register case against one for travelling interstate during lockdown

Bantwal, Apr 15: On information from locals about a person who arrived from Mallapuram in Kerala, Bantwal police traced the person and put him under hospital quarantine.

The person identified as Mohammed Ashraf was working in Mallapuram and had come to Bantwal taluk Sajipamuda village and was staying at his relatives place in Bollai. He had come on lorry from Kerala on April 11.

Alert locals filed complaint on April 15 and police swung into action immediately and put him under hospital quarantine. A case has been filed against him under IPC 269, 270 for neglecting government order on lockdown and not undergoing any medical tests.
