Mangaluru, Apr 27: As many as 20,000 food kits that were donated personally by MP and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel were handed over to BJP MLAs and local party leaders at Kadri grounds in the city on Sunday, April 26.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Nalin said, "Government is committed to protect people who are under distress due to lockdown. It is the duty of everyone to help the needy and poor. All constituencies of the district will get 20,000 kits in total. Eminent leaders of BJP will identify the needy people and distribute the same. I will try to provide more kits in future."

War room is opened in the office of Nalin from the day lockdown is announced. The issues of people are being addressed. BJP MLAs of Dakshina Kannada district have also opened war rooms in their respective constituencies. In the past month 2.60 lac food packets and 1.78 lac grocery kits are distributed. In addition, 50,000 face masks are also provided to needy people. Nalin requested the public to support the fight against corona and do not get distressed.

Speaking on the occasion district-in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said, "Ten kg free rice is given to 2.79 lac families of Dakshina Kannada district by state and union governments. The 20,000 kits donated by Nalin will be distributed to the needy by the respective MLAs."
