Byndoor, Apr 27: UBS Charitable Trust, Dharwad distributed food kits to Asha workers and beneficiaris of nearby villages.

Speaking on the occasion, Sangeetha, station officer of Byndoor police station said, "Due to the generosity of donors during this critical time, poor and downtrodden in the society are getting help. This is an appreciable act."

Trustee of UBS Charitable Trust, Dharwad Prashant Shetty, president of Byndoor taluk working journalists' association, S Janardhan Maravanthe, branch manager of Karnataka Bank, Byndoor branch Parameshwara Poojary, head master of Bada Higher Primary School Balaiah Sherugar, president of old students' association Subramanya Bada, president of SDMC Umesh and members of old students' association were present.

1,000 kits were distributed to the Asha activists of Byndoor region and eligible beneficiaries of Byndoor, Bada, Biyara Kalavadi, Vidyanagara, Yojananagara, Bunkeshwara, Thodemakki and Surkunda. The kit contained, rice, wheat flour, salt, tea powder, sugar, beaten rice, jaggery, millet flour, soap and cooking oil.

President of old students' association Subramanya Bada welcomed the gathering. Sukumara Shetty Surkunda did the introductory speech.
