Madikeri, May 18: In an incident which happened within the limits of Tavoor village in the taluk, a woman who had gone into the woods to collect firewood was allegedly raped by two men. The incident came to light with inordinate delay.
The accused, identified as Chidanand and Chetan from Tavoor village stand arrested in this respect. They have been accused of raping a married woman from their village.
Chetan had captured on video the rape being committed by Chidanand. It is said that later, he threatened the woman of exposing the video if she files complaint against them. The woman, out of fear, had remained quiet. The young men, who were quiet for some time, shared the said video on social media, it is said.
The woman who came to know about this filed a complaint in women's police station here.
