Kaup, May 19: A five-member gang seated in a car reportedly dashed their vehicle against a motorbike that was moving towards Shirva near Vijaya Bank Kutyaru branch within the limits of Shirva police station in an attempt to murder the biker. The incident happened at around 6.35 pm on Sunday, May 17.

Elias (28) from Chandranagara was riding his motorbike with an acquaintance, Abdul Samad, on his return journey after visiting the family of his grandmother when a car reportedly blocked his vehicle and dashed against it. The car had Kabir Jokatte, Basheer Haleangady, Jabbar Uchila, Sharif Koppalangady and Azhar Shirva. When both the people on the bike fell down, Azhar Shirva and Basheer Haleangady got down from the car with lethal weapons in hand and approached the two youngsters menacingly.The accused fled as some pedestrians and a motorbike rider reached the spot at that time, Elias said in his complaint.

The Shirva police who have registered murder attempt case, are investigating.
