Kundapur: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary holds meeting over quarantine centres

Kundapur, May 19: Karnataka minister of Muzrai and Fisheries, Kota Srinivas Poojary, held a meeting with officials over functioning of quarantine centres on May 19.

He said that a nodal officer should be assigned in each quarantine centre and that he will arrange more staff for revenue department from other departments in case of shortage of staff.

There are no lapses in providing food at quarantine centres. District panchayat and taluk panchayat members should visit the centres and provide suggestions. The officials should look into complaints of lack of cleanliness in the centres. All should inevitably work under pressure under present conditions. The government will not spare anybody if there is laxity in duties, he said.

The cost of food at the quarantine centres will be borne by district administration. Milk for children will be supplied from anganwadi centres. If the test reports of pregnant women and children come out negative, they will be relieved from the centres. The movements of those who are coming from other states will be monitored by Seva Sindu app, he said.

Taluk medical officer Dr Nagabhooshan said that there is scarcity of trained and expert medical staff in the health department. Therefore tests take longer, he said.

Kundapur sub divisional officer K Raju, ASP Hariram Shanker, district panchayat member Babu Hegde Theggarse, Gauri Devadiga, Taluk panchayat president Shamala Kunder, vice president Ramkishan Hegde, members Pravin Kumar Shetty Kadke, Karan Poojary, executive officer Keshav Shettigar, Bharati, Tahsildar Thippeswamy, B P Poojary, circle inspector Gopikrishna, Suresh Nayak, municipal council chief officer Gopalakrishna Shetty were present.

Staffs below 50 years of age of Muzrai temples are deployed in Covid-19 control work, said the minister.
