Bantwal, Jun 7: An incident that occurred a week ago at Badaga Kajekaru village under Punjalakatte police station limits of the taluk in which a youth sexually harassed a minor girl.

The incident has taken place on May 30. Hyder, a resident of Pandavarakallu is the accused.

It is alleged that Hyder had asked a bucket of water with the father of the victim girl in order for his calf to drink. The father of the victim told the accused to take a bucket of water. During this time, the accused offered Rs 10 to the victim girl, which she refused flatly. It is alleged that the accused pulled her hand during that time. When the girl wailed loudly, it is alleged that the accused threatened the girl and sped from the spot as per the complaint that is filed in the police station.

Punjalakatte police have arrested accused Hyder, based on the complaint of the victim girl and slapped a case under POCSO on him.
