Tumakuru, Jun 8: A youth ended his life on the night of Saturday, January 6 after recording a TikTok video. The youth had consumed a pill containing a poisonous substance that is used to preserve toor dal and ended his life.

The youngster fell ill seriously after consuming the pill on Saturday night. He breathed his last later at the government hospital in Tumakuru.

The deceased has been identified as Dhananjay (24), son of the late Nagaraju from Gauraganahalli within the limits of Huligunte gram panchayat in Casba revenue division of Koratagere taluk. After creating the video behind Gutte Ranganatha temple in the village, he consumed the tablet.

In the video he created just before committing suicide, the youth gave hints about his intention to kill himself. After he consumed the pill, his health turned volatile. His family admitted him into Koratagere hospital with help from his friends where he was provided preliminary treatment. He was then admitted at Tumakuru hospital but he did not survive there for long.
