Puttur, Jun 12: In an incident which happened on Thursday, June 11, an aged man from the taluk, who had filed a police complaint against his children a few days back, committed suicide. It is said that he was feeling dejected and disoriented.

The victim this case happened to be Sesappa Kulal (74) from Nekkare in Shantigodu. He had filed a police complaint against his two children about 20 days back. It is said that after the police questioned the concerned, no one was talking to him at home. It is said that he stopped going out for work thereafter and started to stay at home.

On June 10, he had gone to bed after dinner. When the family members saw that he was missing from home on Thursday morning, they called his phone. They heard the mobile ringing sound from near the pond on the farm. They got suspicious and searched for him and found his body inside the pond.

Kamala, the wife of the deceased, said in her complaint that her husband was distressed at the fact that he had complained against his sons, and out of this feeling, he had ended his life. Puttur town police, who have registered this case of unnatural death, are probing.
