Mangaluru, Jun 12: The local social organisation Team B-Human paid off the bank loan of a patient who underwent dismemberment of his limbs. The patient had reportedly availed a loan for his treatment.

The patient identified as Pushpakiran (51) a resident of Nehru Nagar under Someshwara municipal limits was admitted to a private hospital in Derlakatte on April 27 due to vomiting. After conducting checkups the doctor found that Pushpakiran was suffering a deficiency of haemoglobin in his blood following which, he underwent blood transfusion at the hospital.

Pushpakiran, a TV technician by profession, later developed gangrene below his knee as a small wound on his leg was infected. He was then shifted to a hospital in Thokkottu for treatment. This led to a procedure which resulted in amputating his leg, forcing Pushpakiran to be bedridden without work and ways to earn money.

Pushpakiran’s wife Rekha who works as cleaning staff at a resort in Someshwara had availed loan for the treatment of her husband and was unable to pay it back. A message in this regard, seeking help for Pushpakiran and Rekha was being circulated on social media platforms. Taking note of the message, Team B-Human came to the family's rescue and paid cheque to waive off the loan of Rs 40,000.

The organisation has further called on its well-wishers and donors to support Pushpakiran’s family as he is unable to go to work and is bedridden. Donors can contact officials of Team B-Human to support Pushpakiran who also has two daughters.

Team B-Human’s founder Asif Deals, Basha, Shameem, Althaf, Sadiq, Ahnaf Deals, Shiyaz Deals were present while handing over the cheque to the family.
