Kundapur, Jun 15: Ancient scratched images were found on rocks at Honnamaradi, Akanoor village, Jagaloor taluk, Davanagere district. The images on rocks on mounds in the middle of the fields were identified by history and archaeology researcher, Seema Rehman.

Images of bull, deer, pellets and other scratched images were found. Prominent among them are the images of man, snake, foot and drawings of images showing cremation culture.

The images are found in each row of rocks. Some of them are seen scratched one over the other. Images of tools used during the stone age, stone axe, black and red pot, shining black pot, pieces of ash-coloured pot and a circular shaped grave belonging to stone age are found.

History and archaeology researcher Shrutesh Acharya Moodubelle and Supreeta K N Kalasa visited the spot and helped in the research. The remains belong to the old stone age, new stone age and historical incidents.

Shageer Ahmed and Raghavendra Moodubelle extended their cooperation. The place is being destroyed at present due to stone quarrying. The department of archaeology and other departments need to protect them.
