Udupi: Safety will be priority of students writing SSLC examination – DC G Jagadeesha

Udupi, Jun 15: “14,034 students have registered for SSLC examination that will be held in the district from June 25. 507 among them have registered to write the examination outside the district and 82 will write them in the district after changing them,” said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha. He was speaking after presiding over a preparatory meeting for SSLC examinations held at DC’s office on Monday.

“4014 boys and 3295 girls will write in Kannada medium, 3321 boys and 3404 girls will write in English medium. All the examination centres are sanitized and those will be sanitized again after the exams. Two masks each will be distributed among students. There will be thermal scanning. Four members of scouts and guides and two health department staff will be assigned for each examination centre. Suitable police security will also be provided,” he said.



“Separate rooms will be arranged for students from the cantonment or seal down area. Only between 18 and 20 students will be accommodated in a room. A route map is being prepared to arrange for buses for students. Teachers will be in charge of routes. Additional buses will be put to service wherever necessary.”

“Students should bring their own boiled and cooled water for drinking. Students should reach the centres well in advance. All the officials should work in coordination to hold the examinations successfully,” he said.

District panchayat CEO Preethi Geylot, SP Vishnuvardhan, additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu, ASP Kumarchandra, DDPI Sheshanayana Karinja, regional passport officer Ramakrishna Rai, all the BEOs of the education department, officials of various departments and presidents of KSRTC and private bus organizations were present.
