Kundapur, Jun 15: Venkat Poojary was elected president and H Vasant Kumar Shetty was elected vice president of the Kundapur agricultural produce marketing committee, both unopposed in the elections held on June 15.

The committee has 10 BJP supported and six Congress supported members. The government had appointed three members recently.

Venkat Poojary thanked MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty and Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar assuring that he will increase the facilities to the farmers through the committee.

Byndoor mandala BJP president Deepak Kumar Shetty, district central cooperative bank director, agricultural produce marketing committee member Raju Poojary, Kundapur mandala BJP president Shanker Ankadakatte, former committee member Raju Poojary, committee former vice president Ganesh Sherigar spoke on the occasion.

Kundapur BJP chief secretary Suresh Shetty, Bhasker Billava, Manju Billava, municipal council member Santhosh Shetty, Sathish Shetty Vakwady, former vice president Rajesh Sherigar, committee former president Sharath Kumar Shetty, members Vasanth S Hegde, Manju Devadiga Bijoor, Sanjiva Poojary Vandse, Krishnavathi Shedthy, Rama Naika, Manjula, Chandra M, D Ramaraya Kamath, appointed members Sudheer K S, Parvathi Kulal, Ramesh Elajit, were present.

Kundapur tahsildar K B Anandappa Naik was the election officer. Committee secretary Depthi S was present.
