Udupi, Jun 15: “Officials should inform municipal council members about people who have been placed in home quarantine after arriving from other states and should work to control COVID-19,” said MLA K Raghupathi Bhat to the council officials.

He was speaking in a meeting held at Satyamurthi Memorial auditorium on June 15. “Over 14 days home quarantine is ordered to people who have arrived from Maharashtra. Their houses are sealed down. Taskforce president and concerned members should provide details to the respective ward members and work for hand in hand,” he said.

“The task force should observe people who are placed under home quarantine and conduct legal action over violations. The service of council members during the lockdown period of providing food and free bus arrangement is commendable.”

“As the monsoons have begun, officials should make sure that suitable maintenance of roads, stormwater drains, street lights, prevention of contagious diseases and disposal of files in offices are carried out,” he said.

Municipal commissioner Anand C Kallolikar, assistant executive engineer Mohan Raj, council members, officials and staff were present.
