Mangaluru, Jun 15: A collision between a lorry and a scooter at Baikampady Junction on Sunday evening has caused the death of a father and his son on the scooter.
The deceased were Krishnapura resident Abdul Basheer and his three-year-old son Shayan.
The couple was on their way from Mangaluru to Krishnapura in the scooter with their child. All three people were thrown to the road in the impact of the accident. While the child died on the spot, the father who was critically injured succumbed without responding to treatment early morning on Monday.
The wife of Abdul Basheer is undergoing treatment at the hospital. A pall of gloom has descended on the family.
