Udupi District Congress holds condolence meet

Udupi, Jun 23: The District Congress and Youth Congress conducted a condolence meet on Saturday for the departed souls of soldiers who lost their lives during the India-China border dispute.

The party members offered flower bouquets to the martyrs memorial here, in Ajjarkad and conducted a one-minute silent prayer for the departed souls.

Addressing the gathering, Kemparaj, vice-president, state Youth Congress said, "China and Pakistan have now started to unnecessarily fight with India. But India will hit back with more aggression. We need to take the lives of 2000 soldiers from the opposite side against our 20 martyrs. We are capable of doing so. Let the Almighty give strength to the families of those soldiers who lost their lives in this tragedy."



Ramesh Kanchan, municipal council member, Prakhyath Shetty, vice-president district Congress Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu, Janardhan Bhandarkar, Roshni Olievera, Yatheesh Karkera, Harish Kini, Sathish Amin, Padukere, Dr Sunitha Shetty and others participated in the condolence meet.
