Mangaluru, Jun 24: Vishakh Aithal (20), a third year student of Nitte Engineering College, lost his life on the spot in an accident which happened near Kottara Chowki on national highway 66 in the city on Tuesday, June 23 afternoon. Aithal was a resident of Hosabettu, Maruti Nagar, Suratkal.
Vishakh was moving towards the house of a relative near KPT in the city from the direction of Suratkal on his motorbike to attend a programme there. A tempo which came from the opposite direction crossed over the road divider after its driver lost control over the vehicle, and landed on the bike rider crushing him underneath.
There was no hope as Vishakh died on the spot. Pandeshwar traffic police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
