Bengaluru: Good rainfall across state - Agumbe registers 14 cm

Bengaluru, Jul 17: Most parts of the state, and coastal belt and north interior part of Karnataka in particular, received good rainfall during the previous 24 hours. Agumbe registered the state's highest rainfall of 14 cm.

Kalaburagi got 11 cm of rainfall and Karkala with 10 cm was placed third. The coastal region recorded between seven and eight cm rainfall at all places. Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts also got rains.

The meteorological department has predicted rains in almost the entire coastline, many places in south interior Karnataka and a few places in north interior Karnataka. It issued a yellow alert on July 17 and 18, and orange alert on July 19 and 20. The department has predicted that it would be dangerous to enter the sea and asked fishermen not to venture into the sea.
