Mangaluru, Jul 17: In order to help coronavirus patients get treatment at home, a helpline has been started.

Following the directions of the Dakshina Kannada DC Sindhu B Roopesh, the city development authority has launched the helpline. The helpline will benefit those coronavirus patients who are asymptomatic and are being treated at home. Patients will be provided with directions and information through the helpline.

Government has ordered home quarantine for patients who do not display any symptoms. The helpline service has already begun in Bantwal, Ullal, Someshwar, Sullia, Puttur and Moodbidri.

Sullia, Puttur and Moodbidri have less home quarantine patients whereas Bantwal, Ullal and Someshwar have more patients.

City development programme director Gayathri Nayak said the helpline will also serve areas where there are fewer patients. Through the helpline, the doctors along with municipal corporation officers will be assisting patients through a video call.
