Bantwal: Corona scare leads to ban on temple visit

Bantwal, Jul 20: Entry of devotees was banned in Karinjeshwara temple here today due to coronavirus scare.

A banner was hung and barricades were erected on the road leading to the temple. Police personnel and volunteers were on guard.

Rain damages roof of government school:

The roof of a 40-year-old Nadumogaru government higher primary school was damaged on Sunday night due to incessant rains. Three rooms and poles have been damaged. The incident happened at 7 pm. MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu visited the school and inspected the damage. He informed the department of revenue and assured the construction of new rooms. The structure would be repaired before the next academic year.



Local people have said that the explosives used in the black quarry here had caused cracks on the walls of nearby houses and might have had damaged the school walls also. Government officials visited the school to assess the extent of the damage.
