Puttur: Illegal cattle traffickers held - Animals, vehicle, seized

Puttur, Jul 21: The town police from here reportedly arrested three persons from Kemmayi in Chikkamudnoor village on Monday July 20 morning. They have been accused of transporting cattle brutally in a pick-up truck.

The arrested accused happen to be Muhammad Muvaz (28) from Shantimaru Kundadka near Vittal in Bantwal taluk, Muhammad Haris (38) from Kambalabettu and Muhammed Faisal (24) from Kemmara in Koyila village, Kadaba taluk.

The policemen posted at Kemmayi check post on Puttur - Uppinangady road during their routine check on Monday morning stumbled upon illegal cattle transportation. The accused tried to flee but the police gave them a hot chase and took them into custody. The cattle and vehicle were taken into possession and a case was registered.
