Mangalore: Protestors to Demand Early Concreting of Valencia Stretch

Mangalore, Mar 12: Public forum under the leadership of Congress leader Ivan D’Souza will hold a protest demanding early completion of Kankanady-Marnamikatta road.

The agitators will assemble at Valencia circle here on Saturday March 13 at 10.30 am.

Ivan D’Souza on behalf of the public forum has stated that the delay in completing the works on the road has caused inconvenience to the public resulting in two deaths and over 100 being injured during the six-month period of concreting the 100 meters stretch of the road.

He alleged that precautionary measures that needs to be taken while undertaking such works has not been implemented exposing the vehicular traffic to danger. Further, the roads that have been dug for works have not been cleared exposing pedestrians to danger, he added and demanded to address these problems as well as finish the concreting works at the earliest.

    1. Public should protest not only to complete the said road but also all roads in Mangalore.

    2. Public will not pardon the corporation/corporators for forcing citizens/tax payers to eat dust day and night.

    3. There will be many suffering from lungs and breathing problems, curse will directly fall on those responsible for this.
