Madikeri, Aug 5: In an incident which happened at Kokeri village within Nariyandada gram panchayat in the taluk, a man killed his own parents with a club.
The deceased have been identified as Eravara Raju (65) and Gauri (60), living in the servants quarters of Chenanda Shivaji Somayya, a planter from Kokeri village. The couple's son, Ayyappa (26), has been accused of committing these murders on Monday night in a drunken state. He hit his parents repeatedly with a club. It is not yet known whether he had any grouse against his parents.
The incident came to light when the owner of the plantation came to the quarters to pick the servants to attend work on Tuesday. He thereafter conveyed information to the police. The police, who have registered the case, have arrested the accused.
