Udupi: ASHA worker Rajeevi ties Rakhi around DC's wrist

Udupi, Aug 5: ASHA worker and corona warrior, Rajeevi, who is an auto rickshaw driver too, came to the office of the deputy commissioner (DC) and tied a Rakhi around the wrist of the DC G Jagadeesha.

Rajeevi had risen to fame after the fact that she had safely taken a pregnant woman going through labour pain to the government hospital at Udulpi from 20 km away at 3 am in her auto rickshaw. Vice President Vankaiah Naidu, who came to know about her selfless service, had appreciated her through a tweet.

Rajeevi said that she wanted to tie Rakhi around DC's wrist as he has been enthusiastically supporting anti-corona drive. She came to the office after her duty hours in her auto and tied a Rakhi, she stated.

In his Facebook post, the DC said that he turned emotional when corona warrior, Rajeevi, suddenly came to his office and tied a Rakhi around his wrist.
