Kundapur, Aug 5: While Bhoomi Pujas were held for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, special pujas were held as part of the celebration at Basrur Mahalingeshwar temple. Special saplings were planted in the temple premises.

Basrur Mahalingeshwar temple managing trustee, B Appanna Hegde said that our forefathers were trying to get the Ram Janmabhooli for the last 500 years. “The case was in court for the last 100 years. The court decided that the land should be handed over to the Hindus based on documents. The court has asked the government to set aside five acre of land for Babri Masjid. Prime minister Modi will lay the foundation for the 161 feet high, 300 feet long and 280 feet wide temple with a silver brick. The occasion is an event of celebration for the Hindus. May the construction of the temple be beneficial for humanity,” he said.

“Several people from the taluk had gone for Karaseve of the Ram Mandir in 1992. We recollect their service,” he said.

Appanna Hegde felicitated in a special way Radhakrishna Acharya who had gone for Karaseve in 1992.
