Udupi: Thieves Strike at Ajjarkad, Become Richer by Rs 5.75 lac

Udupi,  Mar 15: The thieves entered the home of a transporter named Kedarnath Kishore in Ajjarkad here, on the evening of Saturday March 13, and decamped with cash and ornaments worth Rs 5.75 lac. It is said that at the time of the theft, Kadarnath was away at his office, while his wife had ventured out for shopping.

The lock of the house was untouched, as the thieves broke into the house by cutting the metal mesh provided to the house in the backside. In a complaint filed at the town police station here, the house owners said that the thieves have taken away Rs 2.16 lac in cash, apart from gold ornaments worth Rs 3. 59 lac.
