Udupi: Man dies after accidentally falling into rivulet

Udupi, Aug 12: The mortal remains of a man were found on the morning of August 11 at the beach near the cemetery of Kodi Benger in the taluk.

The deceased is identified as Sudhama Suvarna (65), uncle of Sunil Poojary (47), son of Vittal Poojary, a resident of Kula House, Moodkudru, Kallianpur. A missing person complaint of the deceased had already been lodged on August 10 at Malpe police station by his nephew.

The deceased person had the habit of picking up flowing coconuts in the rivulet and it is suspected that he might have fallen into the rivulet while trying to pick the flowing coconut in the intervening period of 10 pm of August 8 to 6 am of August 9.

A case in this connection is registered under UDR number 37/2020 under column 174 CrPC at Malpe police station.
