Mangaluru: Boat builder, engineer M K Harishchandra passes away

Mangaluru, Sep 1: Well-known boat builder and engineer M K Harischandra (85) passed away in a private hospital on Sep 1.

He started Marine Crafts and Equipment Company in Bunder in 1976, worked as an electrical engineer at Mangaluru Fisheries Federation for nearly 30 years. He has built several fishing boats for poor fishermen under the Indo Danish project.

He has served as advisor for NMPT port trust and the fisheries department. He was also the trustee of Padavu Vaidyanatha temple. He has left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter.
