Udupi, Sep 2: “Maintain sanctity in second PU supplementary examinations that will be held from September 7 to 19 and conduct the exams while ensuring that there are no lapses,” said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha. He was speaking after presiding over a meeting held in his office today on the preparations for second PU supplementary examinations.

“The examinations that are being held amidst the pandemic should be conducted following the department guidelines in view of the health of students," he added.

"Over 1,718 students including 614 girls and 1,104 boys will write the examinations in four examination centres. An area up to 200 meters around the examination centres will be announced as a restricted area. Students infected with the virus will be allowed to write the examination in a separate examination centre if the PU education department permits," DC said.

“SSLC and CET examinations were conducted recently in a disciplined manner. PU supplementary examinations also should be conducted likewise. Examination centres should be sanitized. Students should be asked to wear masks compulsorily. The students should be allowed to enter after thermal scanning,” he said.

Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu said that teachers should make sure that students maintain social distance both inside the centre and on the outside premises.

Deputy director of PU examination board Bhagavanta Kattimani, tahsildar Pradeep S Kurdekar, Maheshchandra, Karkala PU College principal Madhava Bhat and various department officials were present.
