Ballari:  Video shared by COVID patient before death becomes viral

Ballari, Sep 3: A WhatsApp video message sent by a coronavirus patient who was admitted into the taluk government hospital at Hagaribommanahali in the district a day prior to his death has moved many into tears. The video has become viral now.
 
J M Prakash (40), a car driver from the town, happens to be the person who created this message a day before his death in the hospital. After he was confirmed with COVID infection, he had got himself admitted into the hospital on Saturday. He was put on a ventilator. He claimed in the message that he was not being given any treatment except oxygen. He said he had told the doctors and given them a test report about his platelet count that had dropped dangerously by 1.1 lac. He stated that he was not given any injections, tablets or glucose. "I feel like dying. I am suffering from cough and wheezing. Covid specialists are not giving me any treatment. Higher officials are requested to take proper measures. This is my earnest request," he had said in the video
 
Hagaribommanahali taluk medical officer, Dr Shivaraj, said that he was in quarantine for three days as he was suffering from cough and cold. He said he is not aware of the above incident. He, however, added that the patient was earlier suffering from kidney problem and tuberculosis.
