Kasargod, Sep 6: An abandoned body of a coolie the worker has been found in Sitamgoli near Kumble.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar (55), a resident of Kodimoole. It is suspected that he might have been murdered.
Shankar had gone to work on Saturday September 5 morning but did not return, after which family members started looking for him.
On Sunday morning his body was found in Kodimoole ground.
There were wounds on his eyes and neck, and bloodstains were found on his body, indicating foul play.
Police have said that he had an argument with some people a few days ago. Locals have complained that drunkards often create nuisance in the area.
Kumble police have started the investigation and the body has been sent to Periyaram Medical College for post-mortem.
