Bengaluru, Sep 7: The archbishop of Bangalore archdiocese has urged all faithful devotees to refrain from coming to St Mary's Basilica at Shivajinagar to pay homage or to attend any kind of liturgical services for the Nativity feast on Tuesday, September 8.

In a press note released, the archbishop of Bangalore said that the decision was taken as an effort to join hands with the government and various agencies of the administration and extend cooperation in containing the spread of coronavirus.

The celebrations would be broadcasted online through various social media and selected TV channels, the press release read.

The archbishop also warned the devotees not to fall prey to fake WhatsApp and video clips stating of any kind of gathering at the church premises and said that the law would take its course and those found guilty would be handed over to the police.
