Udupi, Sep 7: “The state government and the police department is determined to make Karnataka drugs free,” stated Yashpal Suvarna.

“The CCB has conducted high-level investigations about the drug network rooted in the state and created fear among the drug dealers by arresting film actors, businessmen and drug peddlers.”

“Business of drugs has spread widely in the coastal region of the state including Bhatkal and Kasargod and some fanatics are tempting innocent youth making them take part in criminal activities.

During the term of the Congress government, when the son of the chief minister had died under suspicious circumstances in Belgium and suspicions were raised about the consumption of drugs, the case was closed, indirectly bowing to the drug mafia.

Chief minister B S Yediyurappa, home minister Basavaraja Bommai, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and all the MPs of the district and MLAs have directed to take strict action against the drugs network which supports anti-national and criminal activities.

The police department in the district will be requested to spread investigations to the remaining districts in the state and defeat the drug network that misleads the students of education and tourism and make the state free from drugs,” Yashpal Suvarna stated in the press release.
