Heavy rain inflicts huge losses in Byndoor, villages around

Byndoor, Sep 8: Due to heavy rain which the area received late evening on Sunday, huge losses were suffered by the people living in and around here, as per reports received with delay. Water from Painady rivulet which experienced floods entered many houses located by the riverbank in Kalthodu village.

Four cows belonging to Nagayya Poojary washed away due to flood water which entered his cattle shed. After water inundated a poultry farm belonging to B J Benny at Chatkal Atyady in Yadthare village, over 5,000 chicken died. The loss in this incident has been estimated at Rs 6 lac.
 
Rainwater which entered the house of Tondle Devappa Poojary in Yelajit village caused a loss of over a lac rupees. Lightning which struck near Hollarahithlu area in Uppunda village caused the walls of the house belonging to Girija Madival, a local, to develop cracks. It also burnt down her electrical equipment.
