'Do not wait until coronavirus becomes incurable, get tested immediately' - Udupi DC

Udupi, Sep 9: The coronavirus situation is getting worse in the district. The instances of corona-infected patients getting admitted to the ICU directly is on the rise, said the district deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.

In the video uploaded on his official Facebook page, DC said, "People are becoming incautious towards coronavirus. Once they begin to display symptoms they consume medicines at home and later when their health deteriorates they visit the hospital. Some succumb to the infection on their way to the hospital while others die even before the treatment is carried out for them. I sincerely request people to get themselves tested well in advance. I would like to reiterate that there are no fees for either the testing or the treatment of coronavirus infection. If any person begins to display coronavirus like symptoms, they should get themselves tested and not wait until they have reached the critical stage."

"Additional ICU's can be set up by buying new equipment. However, arranging technicians and health staff is a herculean task. We need to identify the symptoms of coronavirus infection at an early stage. Once the symptoms begin displaying themselves visit the nearest Covid centres immediately and do not wait until the disease becomes incurable," he said.
