Mangaluru, Sep 9: Gangolli zone coast guard inspector Sandeep G S took charge as Ullal station police inspector on Wednesday. The post was vacant since the last month.

Ullal station charge was handed over to Mangaluru rural police station’s Ashok after the transfer of Anil Kumar. Though six sub-inspectors (SI) were serving in Ullal police station, the post of the inspector was vacant. Sandeep G S who took over the charge was the inspector in coast guard Gangolli zone since the last one year.

Sandeep belonged to the 2007 batch. He began his service after obtaining training in Mysuru and as a probationary sub-inspector in Dharwad. He has served in Hubballi town, Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Hosanagara, Kumsi, Haveri and Hirekerur districts as SI. He had received a certificate from the superintendent of police for cracking the cases of thefts and crimes during his service in Shivamogga district.

Over six SIs were serving in Ullal police station since the day Covid-19 restrictions were imposed. Two SIs among them have been transferred now. Vinayak Thoragal, Pradeep, Shivakumar and Revana Siddappa are the station SIs at present.
