Google Unveils Internet Television Plan

Washington, May 21 (IANS): Google Inc. has unveiled its plan to launch "Google TV", a search technology that will provide an easy and fast way to navigate to television channels, websites and applications, all on televisions.

The California-based company introduced the plan Thursday at a conference in San Francisco, where over 5,000 software programmers took part.

Google will cooperate with Sony and Logitech to put Google TV inside televisions, Blu-ray players and companion boxes. The device will include Google software including Android and Chrome Web browsers, a Sony television with an Intel microprocessor and a special remote control and wireless keyboard from Logitech, Xinhua reported citing a statement released by Google.

The new product will go on sale later this year.
