Mangalore, Aug 3: The Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI(M)) secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal on Tuesday August 3 alleged corruption in the passing of tender for the public toilet at the service bus stand.

The letter was submitted to Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) commissioner Dr K N Vijay Prakash. The land belongs to the government and the responsibility of the construction was undertaken by Lions Club Mallikatte.

“As Lions Club has failed in the responsibility, MCC has to take up the task. One of the MCC engineers with a Lions Club membership received Rs 2 lac for the project but handed over the money to Loka Kala Parishad”, said Bajal.

“This has to be investigated by the officials and the culprits should be punished”, he added.
