Mangalore: NIT-K to Celebrate 51st Foundation Day

Mangalore, Aug 6: National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal will be celebrating the institute’s 51st foundation day on Friday August 6.

Several events including homage to founder U Srinivasa Mallya, golden jubilee run from NITK to Surathkal and back, tree planting, foundation day ceremony and Hasya Sammelana featuring Richard Louis and group will be organized as part of the day-long celebrations. A large number of present and past faculty, staff and students are expected to participate in the events.

Professor M S Ananth, director, IIT Madras will be the chief guest. He will release the 'strategic plan' of NITK on the occasion.

Former principal Prof B S Basavarajaiah will be the guest of honour and will release the 'NITK alumni association golden jubilee souvenir.' Prof Sandeep Sancheti, director, NITK, will preside. Senior staff of the institute will be felicitated by the alumni association.
