Udupi: Breast Feeding Week at Shirva Community Health Centre Concludes

Udupi, Aug 8: Dr Vasudev Upadyaya, senior medical officer of Community Health Centre, Shirva, near here emphasized on the importance of breast feeding to infants at a programme held to mark World Breastfeeding Week on Saturday August 7.

Shirva gram panchayat president Vanita Kamalaksha Shenoy, Shirva Rotary president Edwin Rodrigues, Anganawadi supervisor Shantha, village health – cleanliness committee president K Ramaraya Patkar, senior health assistant Sewrine D’Souza and dental surgeon Dr Santhosh Kumar were the chief guests.

Dr Girish Gowda, senior medical officer of Community Centre who is transferred to Maravanthe Primary Health Centre, Usha Marate, health assistant who is transferred to Belman Primary Health Centre and Sandeep Kumar, pharmacist who is transferred to district Hospital were felicitated on the occasion.

Dr K R Venkatakrishna, senior medical officer of Shirva Community Centre conveyed best wishes. Dr Santhosh Kumar welcomed the gathering. Anganawadi teacher Jayanti proposed the vote of thanks. Junior health assistant Nagaiah Hiremath compered the programme.

The programme was organized jointly by Community Health Centre and village health – cleanliness committee, Shirva.
