Bangalore: Major Fire in Shivajinagar Chemical Unit, No Casualties

Bangalore, Aug 8 (NDTV):  A major fire broke out in the cramped Shivajinagar area, near Hotel Taj, off the Commercial Street in Bangalore on Sunday, apparently in a chemical-storing unit.

Fifteen fire engines were immediately pressed into service to contain the blaze.

Since the place happened to be a chemical-storing unit, there were fears that it could lead to largescale devastation. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured as it was a holiday.
