Bantwal: Five Arrested - Kidnapped Engineer Rescued

Bantwal, Aug 15: The town police arrested five persons on Saturday August 14 and rescued an engineer from Belgaum employed in BSNL, Karwar.

he arrested are identified as Ravichandra (19) from Nallur in Karkala, Ibrahim Khaleel (20) from Guddeangadi, Azharuddin (20) from Haleyangadi, Mohammed Azharuddin (26) from Katpady and Mohammed Akbar (21) from Manchakal in Shirva. The other two, Vinayak alias Rahul from Manipal and Sharief from Kaup fled from the scene. The engineer identified as Basavaraj Baramanaikar hailing from Naganoor in Belgaum was kidnapped from Sunkasale bus stand near Ankola in Uttra annada district on Friday August 13 evening.

It is said that Basavaraj was forcibly taken away and robbed off Rs 53,500. On a tip-off from toll gate staff, the local police arrested the culprits near B C Road toll gate here and released the engineer. Police said that the motive behind the kidnap was money. The police also seized Scorpio driven by the kidnappers, mobile phones and Rs 5,000.

Police have registered a case and investigation is on.

    Please look at their faces. Culprits are from broken homes. Send them to jail and then exterminate them from our soil. Please send them to Andaman never to come back.
