'Indian Idol' Finalist Bhoomi is Radio Mirchi's New RJ


Mumbai, Aug 15 (IANS): Baroda-based Bhoomi Trivedi, who is among three finalists on "Indian Idol 5", has been chosen as the new radio jockey of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, it was announced at the grand finale of the music reality show here Sunday.

The 21-year-old girl had auditioned for being a radio jockey for the station when the top five contestants were remaining on the show. But she pipped Sreeram Chandra, Rakesh Maini, Swaroop Khan and Shivam Pathak, due to listeners' votes.

RJ Sangita of Radio Mirchi came to the finale, being held at the Filmistan Studios here, to announce the result.

Bhoomi expressed immense happiness upon receiving the opportunity. Besides thanking the listeners, she also greeted the audience in true radio jockey style.
